I hope he won't hide Erik's past from him (about his family, the camps, maybe Shaw, how the two of them met). Because it could be dangerous, but Erik deserves to know at least that (how do you explain the tatoo on his arm anyway?).
I think that in this new state of mind, Erik could do the right choices even knowing everything that happened. Because he would know it, but not really remember it or 'feel' it, he wouldn't be blinded by hatred and pain anymore. Just like in this movie with Harrison Ford, "Regarding Henry", where the main character loses his memories, discovers that he was a dick (big time!), but changes for the best.
And how many years happened since the beach? You talk about years but you never say how much time.
